Utter Disappointment, but All is Well

Tyler had the afternoon off yesterday, so we decided to go to lunch before taking Ada to her 6 month doctor's appointment. We went to Teriyaki Stix since we had a coupon from the Happenings Book and it was close to the doctor's office. They had new orange chicken rice bowls, and since rice bowls are practically the only things on the menu, we both ordered one. When I went to pick up the order, all I could do was stare. On the tray before me were two bowls of white rice with a few pieces of chicken on top. No vegetables, no sauce (just a few packets of soy sauce sitting on the tray). The chicken wasn't even that good. And they were $5 each! Luckily we only had to pay for one because of the coupon. Next time I want a rice bowl I think I'll pay a visit to the freezer aisle and spend $3 on something that is actually good.

So lunch was less than satisfying, but at least Ada's appointment went well. The doctor said she looked perfect. She now weighs 16 lb. 4 oz. and is 27 inches long. So she's still tall but isn't quite so big for her age anymore. Oh, and she still has a small head. Unfortunately for her, she did have to get more shots. That's the hardest part of all, but at least she always takes a good nap afterwards. Tyler was finally there to witness it. He said it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be. I guess the very first time they get shots is the most traumatic since they're so small and unsuspecting. I thought she was done with shots for a while, but she has to go back in a month for another flu shot. Rats. At least she's a healthy girl.
