October 2014--Houston trip

Ly and I were lucky enough to go visit Ang & Hyrum in Houston. Hyrum was going to be on a work trip over Angie's birthday so he sent us out to surprise her so she wouldn't be alone.

Here we are on the plane. Hyrum picked us up from the airport and then we waited for Ang to get home from work. We hid Lyla in a huge box on the porch and I rang the doorbell after Angie walked in the house. I don't have a copy of the video, but she was so excited! Who wouldn't want to find Lyla in a box on their porch?

That night they had friends over for cake and ice cream. The next morning we ate at a French bakery and went shopping. We got so much delicious food!

Since Hyrum is now the bishop of their ward, we went to their ward trunk-or-treat. Lyla brought her Anna costume and had fun getting candy and being swooned over

Hyrum let Ang open her gift before he left. Ly enjoyed helping her

After he left, we went out for dinner and gelato with Ang's friend Nancy

My friend Kim lives in the Houston area. We visited her twice and got exactly zero pictures. :(  I finally saw her house and her cute twins. On another day, we went to the children's museum while Ang was working. Our Discovery Gateway pass got us in for free!

Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Tyler was so great and accommodating while we were gone. He took the girls to the ward Halloween party...

...and a Squire Halloween party

Ada and Kate got to sport their fedoras for Hat Day at school

When Mom is away, the kids will play! Tyler filled our ice maker with chocolate

He did a great job on their hair for Crazy Hair Day

What a fun surprise birthday trip. It seems like not only did you sneak in quality time with your sister but also with cute little Ly! I love the box idea!! Your hubby did an amazing job holding down the fort, my hubs would fall apart, lol! He was even good at taking pictures for ya, nice!
